Board Member Feature – Sarah Prince – Get to know our newest Board Member, Sarah Prince, who is a Small Business Advisor at Scotiabank!
What is your role at the Yarmouth and Area Chamber of Commerce?
I’ve recently joined as a Director on the Yarmouth and Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. I’m also the Chair of the Marketing Committee. I’m looking forward to helping plan quality networking events, assisting with YACC social media content and working with members to take full advantage of their membership perks! We have some exciting events coming up and I’m very much looking forward to meeting all of our members!
How long have you had this role?
I joined after the AGM in March 2018, so I’m brand new to the Yarmouth and Area Chamber of Commerce Board.
What made you decide to take this role?
I had been looking at ways to get more involved in the community and to do so with a group that was relevant to my experience. I’m very passionate about small businesses and have been working with them for more than 7 years in a variety of ways, so I thought there was no better organization than the Yarmouth and Area Chamber of Commerce. Coming on as the Marketing Chair has allowed me to use my background in Public Relations & Communications in a meaningful way and I’m excited to bring a fresh new perspective to the board and to the Marketing Committee.
What do you hope to provide to our members?
I hope to bring in new ideas and serve as a fresh voice for our 300+ chamber members. I believe small business is the backbone of our community and it’s important to represent and advocate for their success!
