What does your business provide?
I have been performing Occupational Safety duties for 20 years. Having worked for diversified companies in areas such as Nunavut, South America and Africa as an onsite safety adviser, I have gained valuable knowledge and experience in a wide range of occupations. As a young apprentice machinist, I was injured on the job, amputation of 3 ½ fingers on my right hand, which led to my current career and determination to prevent workplace injuries. I am always available to talk with High School or Community College students who are either working part time or getting ready to enter the workforce full time. My ability to effectively communicate in both French and English is an asset.
EJG Safety offers the following training at the client’s place of choice at their convenience, including nights or weekends, including Sundays.

What made you want to start your Business?
Having worked for a company that needed some of the training, we had to either go to Halifax or get a trainer to come from the city. Realizing that something could be done to offer the training locally and less expensive than sending workers for the training, I decided to open my company to offer quality safety training locally, without having to send workers away which can get expensive, (traveling, motel, meals).
When did you join the Chamber of Commerce & how have we helped?
After having a discussion with a friend about the type of work I did, she mentioned how the YACC could be of help in promoting my company. Having joined the YACC this year, I soon realized that I should have joined sooner. The diversity of companies who are members blew me away.
